Kigali, Rwanda, Central Africa

In June, 2024 in collaboration with the Central Southern Africa Episcopal District under the leadership of Bishop George D. Crenshaw, Life’s Mission orchestrated a mission trip to Kigali, Rwanda to worship with our brothers and sisters in Rwanda, to conduct the Annual A.M.E. Zion Church Conferences for the region, to conduct classes at the Bishop Crenshaw Theological Institute for ministers, to provide free health education to hundreds of citizens of Kigali, to provide donated free reading glasses, clothing, toiletries, refreshments, and more the community and to deliver free donated medical supplies to a clinic serving lower income individuals without insurance in Kigali. A team of 27 individuals led by Bishop Crenshaw consisted of A.M.E. Zion ministerial leadership, lay members, health professionals, and friends. The team from the U.S., with full participation from our hosts at Mount Carmel A.M.E. Zion Church (under the leadership of Elder Uwamahoro), set up the training classes and donation center on the church grounds. Over 4 days, over 500 individuals were served, including 300 children and youth.

Angola, Southern Africa

Our most recent project was in collaboration with the Central Southern Africa Episcopal District under the leadership of Bishop George D. Crenshaw. We were able to lead a successful medical mission and teaching team to Angola in August 2019. The team of medical and ministerial leaders set up a medical clinic at a local training institute. With the assistance of our medical colleagues in Angola, we were able to provide free medical care, medicine, eyeglasses, clothing and toiletries to over 500 clinic attendees over the course of 4 days.

Liberia, West Africa

From 2008 to 2013, Rev. Jallah and Dr. Beysolow led 4 successful medical mission trips to Liberia, West Africa. The trips were taken with the Shaw Temple A.M.E. Zion Overseas Medical Mission and Evangelism Team and were under the leadership of Bishop George D. Crenshaw. Clinics were set up in churches in Monrovia, Paynesville and Brewerville, Liberia. During each of the 4 trips, the team served over 1000 clinic participants with free medical care.
